We have a great opportunity for someone to come and lead our Information & Data Management team on a permanent basis.


The Manager Information & Data Management role will lead the development and delivery of MPI’s information and data management strategies. You will support the Ministry’s understanding of data stewardship and the use of information as a strategic asset. This role is also accountable for collaborating across government to enable improved system performance with the reuse of MPI’s data and information.


You will also be responsible for all aspects of the organisation’s information and data management, including business intelligence, spatial and non-spatial data.


You will have 5 direct reports within a wider team of 35.


We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Sound understanding of data stewardship, data governance and related disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in communications and relationship management for a strategic initiative
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in data or information management
  • Knowledge of strategic and business planning processes


Ideally you will have an appropriate Information Management, Computer Science, Statistics qualification or similar discipline that can be applied, demonstrate intellectual knowledge of this field and enjoy the challenge of working across diverse subjects.
