The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is responsible for enhancing New Zealand’s primary production sectors, safeguarding our resources and animal welfare, as well as securing market access for our products. Our work is essential to building and maintaining New Zealand’s reputation as a producer of safe and high quality food and other primary products.
The Policy Capability and Regulatory Stewardship (PCRS) team sits within the Food and Regulatory Policy Directorate of the Policy and Trade Branch. Our team members are bold, confident people who like challenges and are versatile working across government and with industry and stakeholders.
The Manager of the PCRS team is looking for an outstanding policy analyst to join her team. You will have the opportunity to use your policy skills and experience to contribute to improving the quality of our policy advice and to improve the design and operation of MPI’s wider regulatory systems. This will include ongoing work to develop and coordinate capability & training initiatives and quality assurance processes and to support regulatory stewardship.
The best person for this role will have experience of policy and regulatory processes, along with a great attitude that can work effectively with others from all types of backgrounds and do things differently and build our capabilities.
