Here is your chance to take up a new and significant role in the Plant Exports team working in a very dynamic environment with often rapidly changing requirements.
The Plant Exports Team is responsible for a wide range of activities relating to the phytosanitary (plant health) export system as well the food safety aspects of the export of fresh produce. Activities include facilitating access to export markets, providing phytosanitary assurances and advice about importing countries requirements, management of the plant export assurance standards, management of Official Assurance Programmes for specific country/commodity combinations, review of and input into international standards (such as IPPC, UNECE, CODEX) and working closely with exporters to resolve issues.
We are looking for a Programme Coordinator to join our Plant Exportsteam initially for 12 months. You will be responsible for providing coordination of the significant projects to maintain and implement export assurance programmes, and contribute to the improving our market access for plants and plant products around the world. This position will help drive significant outcomes for New Zealand's plant export industries by assisting members of the team to develop appropriate project goals and milestones and track progress of these projects.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to think “outside the square”, be innovative and not be constrained by how things have always been done.
To be successful in this role you need to be a great organiser and have experience or an ability to produce project planning and documentation. A relevant qualification in project management or equivalent practical experience is desired.
You will also need to have strong relationship management skills to ensure you can get the best out of everyone and have good written and verbal communication skills.
