About the Organisation
MPI's purpose is to grow and protect New Zealand. MPI is helping maximise export opportunities for our primary industries, improve sector productivity, ensure the food we produce is safe, increase sustainable resource use, and protect New Zealand from biological risk. We employ over 2,200 staff in 70 locations both here and overseas.
The Operations Branch has a critical role in preventing harmful organisms crossing New Zealand's borders. It manages border and compliance activities as well as preparing for and responding to biosecurity threats within New Zealand. The Diagnostic & Surveillance Services (DSS) Directorate is responsible for delivering the core functions of biosecurity surveillance, incursion investigation, and diagnostics. This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we move towards our New Zealand Biosecurity System in “2025 and beyond”.
MPI encourages and supports people to reach their full potential. To see more information about MPI and what we do click here.
