Have you got what it takes to help exporters be more successful? Would you like to be part of a new team that spearheads meeting the needs of our exporters through adding value to our information, advice, and education?
This is a golden opportunity to explore the gap between technical and regulatory requirements and growing exporter knowledge and understanding to support their growth aspirations.
We are looking for bright, agile and innovative Advisers/Senior Advisers to join the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI's) recently established Exporter Regulatory Advice Services team. This is a new function for MPI, testing and implementing a new approach to our export business customers. This new and unique role will have you
This role is in an innovative team piloting a new approach: you will be contributing to a customer-facing function that adds real value by responding to exporter enquiries, and using learnings from to develop proactive tools, interventions and information services that help meet exporter's needs.
You'll be open minded and keen to experiment with new or different ways of working. You'll have excellent “people skills” and preferably an understanding of the principles of service design, user experience and project management. You'll bring a relevant tertiary degree or technical specialty such as agriculture, food technology, science or education and training. Previous experience within a primary sector or export business would be an advantage, as would foreign language abilities or experience with customers for whom English is a second language.
We are looking for people who are comfortable navigating and building relationships with relevant technical teams, who are superstars with external business customers and who embrace change. You will have the ability to listen and understand, as well as a passion for developing the underlying processes that work best for exporters and MPI. You will enjoy working in a fast moving, busy environment where no two days are the same.
This team works across a number of other branches and teams within MPI including directly with technical teams where your relationship management skills will come to the fore. You will be able to translate regulatory requirements into clear and easy to understand information for customers. You will have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people, including demonstrated success working across business groups in a collaborative manner.
If you think you're up for the challenge, then we'd like to hear from you.
