We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join the Applications team here at the Ministry for Primary Industries. MPI is developing a modern set of enterprise platforms and is an advocate for all of government capabilities and technologies which support the growing needs of our business.
This role is responsible for developing solution architecture for projects, collaborating and advising developers. Our solution delivery team has a growing capability modern application development and we are looking for a Solution Architect who can help guide in the design and development phases. We're an advocate for rapid delivery and are building our Agile practices with this in mind.
You'll be defining, developing, maintaining, and communicating detailed solution patterns, models, standards and guidelines in relation to solutions architecture. You'll have an understanding of general software architecture principles and development practices. MPI has a wide range of technologies, so understanding of integration is essential, as is a knowledge of cloud computing.
Our Solution Architects are able to guide and direct discussions, document and present technical solutions, and discuss options with our business in terms they understand. Having a deep technical knowledge, our Solution Architects work very closely with our delivery teams.
To be successful in the role you will need to have good interpersonal, strong oral and written communication skills along with great stakeholder relationship management skills. You'll need to be comfortable in presenting, negotiating, and facilitating technical solutions.
This role is located in Wellington.
