We have an important opportunity for a Team Leader in our Systems Support Team to continue ensuring the ongoing capability and capacity of the team. This is a 12 months fixed term position based in Wellington.
This Team Leader role sits inside the Systems Support team, which is part of the overall Applications Team. The purpose of this role is to manage a team of 5-6 Analysts/Administrators that support the Food/Trade/Biosecurity sectors of MPI. The team provides analysis and advice and supports the administration, development and maintenance for systems and initiatives and planning in these sectors.
Key responsibilities for this role are to:
- Ensure team's business plans support MPI's overall strategic vision and organisational strategy
- Ensure the on-going capability of the team is developed and maintained
- Ensure that resources are managed efficiently
- Provide leadership and foster a positive culture
- Support and have accountability for Team Engagement
- Lead the team engagement action planning process
- Ensure staff have a strong customer focus
- Streamline Food, Trade and Biosecurity sectors systems and processes
- Contribute to Food, Trade and Biosecurity capability and capacity
You'll be able to inspire the trust and respect of the team and stimulate production within the workplace. Communication and your ability to listen will be critical. You'll be able to manage a solid workload in a challenging cross functional environment. You'll also help the team and wider group deliver on our work programme. As a leader, you will be flexible, proactive, confident and keen to embrace new technologies.
