The Ministry for Primary Industries is currently seeking to appoint a self-motivated professional, with strong analytical skills, to a newly established position as an Intelligence Support Officer. This role is essential to supporting successful delivery of intelligence and targeting activities, contributing to the protection of New Zealand's borders from biological risk.
As an Intelligence Support Officer, you will be supporting a high performing team tasked with the delivery of trusted, tailored and timely intelligence outputs, supporting the Operational Directorates across MPI. You will be working closely with internal and external stakeholders across the various systems; collecting and processing information from a wide range of sources to provide insights on risks and threats associated with entities of MPI interest.
Stakeholder engagement is a key component of this role, and proven interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills are essential to success. Strong problem-solving and critical reasoning skills, along with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage work flows, are necessary to meet the role requirements.
In order to be considered for this role, the following experience and knowledge must be demonstrated;
• Experience in developing and managing positive relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders,
• Proficiency in manipulating data entry and reporting tools,
• Working knowledge of collecting and managing complex and diverse information,
• Awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the Treaty of Waitangi, and its principles.
