The new safety legislation came into force in 2016 and with that the opportunity to positively change our workplace. You can play a part in that. MPI has an internal Safety and Wellbeing Group. We are looking for a Senior Adviser – Safety and Wellbeing to join the team. This role is a permanent position.
While we are doing really well in the safety space that doesn't mean there is nothing left to be done. We are determined to lead the Sector and demonstrate excellence in this area. All we can promise is hard work but it will be incredibly interesting and there is the opportunity for you to make a sustainable difference.
The Safety and Wellbeing Advisers are responsible for implementing the Safety and Wellbeing plans within MPI. This includes devising, developing and delivering a range of initiatives in the safety space. You will also promote two-way communication with staff, stakeholders and the many communities with which we work.

You will be someone who has energy, passion and ideas. You will have excellent communication skills and a strong ability to carry a discussion and lead engagement. You will be a person of exceptional character who can stand up as a role model to others with pride and confidence that comes from their own mana and a belief in MPI.
You will have a natural ability to solve problems, derive solutions and deliver success. You will need a sense of humour and while taking the role seriously not forget the realities of engagement. You will have tenacity and a personality that doesn't give up or get beaten down.
In addition, you may have experience in the following areas:
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing
- Policy and/or procedure drafting
- Report writing
- Project management
