We are looking for a Business Accountant to join our Management Accounting team in Wellington.

To assist and support MPI's goals, we have a fantastic opportunity in Wellington for someone to join our Management Accounting team within the Finance, Property and Procurement directorate as a Business Accountant. You will join a supportive team that take pride in their work and strive for excellence.
This role will partner with the business to provide trusted financial and management accounting advice and support to influence, and quickly gain the trust and credibility with the management and budget holders. The role will develop an understanding of these business groups, provide high quality financial information to managers as well as contribute to ongoing financial business improvement solutions.
You will have previous experience working with senior managers and budget holders to deliver timely and accurate information and analysis, as well as accounting functions including variance analysis, budget and forecast setting and reporting.
Our ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification, membership or provisional membership of a professional accounting body; excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven experience in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will also be quick to grasp problems and identify solutions. Previous experience working in the public sector and knowledge of Finance One would be an advantage.
