This exciting new leadership position in Fisheries New Zealand has been created at a time of opportunity and change.
Fisheries New Zealand is a new business unit established to a drive stronger focus on managing New Zealand's valuable fisheries resources and their place in the wider marine environment.
As Director Aquaculture & Branch Support you will play a key role in shaping Fisheries New Zealand and enabling high performance across the business unit.
The unique position will lead an Aquaculture team focused on the sustainable development of the aquaculture sector.
You team will be pivotal in managing diverse stakeholders, including industry experts, and as a credible and articulate leader you will also support discussions with Ministers and the practical delivery of sustainable resource use, and aquaculture policy.
You will also work as part of the Fisheries New Zealand leadership team to ensure excellence as the owner for the projects and process improvements across Fisheries New Zealand.
To excel in this role you will have a solid understanding of systems process, business analysis and reporting. Having managed and/or established new functions in the past you're adept at aligning people with outcomes, and managing competing demands. With exceptional stakeholder management skills you can establish rapport quickly, and achieve buy in from others. With a desire to drive change, you're ready to establish something new and find practical ways to push forward!
As a member of the leadership team of Fisheries New Zealand, you will collectively guide regulatory functions to manage New Zealand's fisheries resource and marine environment, fisheries science and research, monitoring and verification, and aquaculture development.
