About our team
The International Relations team is part of the International Policy directorate of our Policy and Trade branch. The team is responsible for the implementation of Free Trade Agreements and trade cooperation arrangements and for promoting New Zealand as a valuable partner to our markets. We work closely with other departments, in particular the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade. Our team supports and administers the Global Research Alliance and the associated working groups and funds.
About the role
The Senior/Business Analyst is responsible for supporting the International Policy Directorate in business process management both from a strategic and operational perspective. The primary focus will be that of business reporting processes, travel and budgets, proactive identification of process improvement opportunities, and supporting the implementation of identified initiatives including procurement processes. The work will generally range in scope and size.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in public sector finance and business processes; and in developing and implementing relevant business systems.
- Knowledge of strategic and business planning processes.
- Knowledge in budget accountability processes and reporting
- Experience in analysing technical issues and contributing to business decisions with financial impact
You will also be a self-starter that can identify effective solutions, will work well with members across the International Policy Directorate and will be able to respond to requests that often appear unexpectedly with short time frames.
