We are seeking an experienced Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspector/auditor with extensive experience in GMP compliant manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control of veterinary medicines or sterile pharmaceuticals to join MPI's Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) team.
The team is responsible for managing risks to animal welfare, human health, trade and biosecurity associated with the import, manufacturing, use and sale of agricultural compounds.
In this position you will primarily be responsible for undertaking inspections of veterinary medicine manufacturers and contract testing laboratories to verify compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements under the ACVM Act. You will also participate in the development and maintenance of ACVM standards and information requirements in relation to manufacturing and chemistry, and perform ACVM monitoring, compliance and surveillance activities including the approval of Operating Plans.
To be successful in this role you will need a scientific degree or equivalent qualification in a discipline applicable to manufacturing (such as Pharmacy, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering) and at least 5 years in a GMP manufacturing and/or GMP compliant laboratory environment in either the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical or veterinary medicine industries. You will have an excellent working knowledge of the principles and application of GMP and have specialist knowledge and understanding of pharmaceuticals or veterinary medicines. You would be expected to demonstrate an ability to operate at the required technical level with minimal training in a short timeframe.
You must have excellent attention to detail and be able to quickly adapt and think on the run. You will be confident and able to communicate well in a wide range of environments, and have strong and established technical writing abilities as report writing is a key part of the role.
The successful applicant must be willing to work at the Wellington office where the team is based, and accepting of travel for approximately 2-10 days per month (including overnight stays). Applicants must hold a current valid full driver's license.
