We are looking for a self-motivated adviser to join the team. You will support the team with information, analysis and advice that enables the team to build processes and partnerships for better biosecurity.

About our team
The GIA is a developing partnership between Government and primary industries delivering better biosecurity outcomes for New Zealand. The GIA Partnerships and Readiness Delivery Team are MPI's custodians of partnerships with over 20 primary sectors. We work in the Readiness & Response Services Directorate and with industry partners to bring together the critical capability to effectively prepare for and manage responses, and to co-ordinate recovery and long term management activities.
About the role
This is an opportunity to be part of a significant and highly regarded national partnership programme. You will work closely with partners across New Zealand's primary industries to better protect New Zealand from pests and diseases.
The role will be full of variety to keep you on your toes and you will be self-motivated and own your work. The advisor will support the team with information, analysis and advice and will be responsible for managing publication of regular stakeholder newsletters, delivering presentations, and helping to develop readiness plans.
You may also be asked to work in responses if required.
You will be comfortable working in a changing, ambiguous environment and have:
- Tertiary science qualification
- 2-5 years in a relevant technical or professional role
- Understanding of the primary sectors
- Successful experience as a participant in a team and with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proven ability to deliver quality advice, guidance and material on time.
- Experience in working in a New Zealand Government agency (central, regional or other).
- Working knowledge of the Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS)
