We are looking for a top-notch Executive Assistant to support the Ministry for Primary Industry's Deputy Director-General (DDG) of Policy & Trade.
This is a key role in the DDG's office. You will be working with a small team of high performers and be the key connection between the DDG's office and the wider branch. If you have previous experience working with a senior leader and can bring order to a busy working environment, we want to hear from you!
You will have a reputation for being the go-to-person who successfully manages multiple (and often competing) priorities and deadlines in a professional and upbeat manner. You're an effective gatekeeper who is skilled at managing up, and are unflappable under pressure.
Your strong eye for detail and ability to prioritise work will allow you to coordinate a busy diary and keep track of business in the branch.
Ideally you will have worked in the public sector and have a good understanding of how the mechanics of government works, but most importantly you are a self-starter who gets things done.
As this role requires a true team player, you will be willing to work alongside other Executive Assistants to deliver the level of support that the MPI leadership team requires.
Key Requirements for this Role:
- Demonstrated experience providing executive support for a senior leader
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent relationship management and communications skills
- Flexible enough to deal with frequent changes/reworks
- Anticipates what will be required of them and the DDG
- Totally prepared – can put their hand on what's needed at the drop of a hat
- The ability to obtain a ‘Confidential' Security Clearance
This is a unique and exciting opportunity, roles like this don't come along very often.
