The Team Manager Establishment for Dunedin is looking for a Veterinary Technical Supervisor 2 to join the team and be based in Oamaru at ME137 Lean Meats.
This establishment is an independent, multi-species (sheep and lamb, adult beef and bobby calves) premises. This position is typically on a 5 x 8 roster. This premises processes up to six days a week on a double shift during the peak season.
The purpose of this position is to undertake verification activities in line with current legislation and organisational requirements, thereby permitting the issue of official assurances.

About the Group and the Team
Reporting to the Team Manager Establishment Dunedin, the role sits within the Establishment group of the Verification Services directorate. MPI Verification Services (MPI VS) provides a range of food safety and biosecurity verification and certification services to support market access strategies and setting standards.
Key Skills / Educational Requirements
- A Qualified and registered Veterinarian
- Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with HACCP, Quality Assurance systems, Risk Management Systems
- Verbal and written skills, verbal and analytical reasoning skills
- Integrity and trust, ethics and values, resilience, adaptability and openness
- Persuading and influencing, team work, planning and organising
- Computer literacy – can operate standard and customised software to an acceptable standard e.g. word-processing, excel, internet, email, database, secure sites, electronic certification, residues etc
- An understanding of basic food technology
