We're looking for an astute and commercially savvy professional to join us in our mission to sustainably manage New Zealand's valuable fisheries, within the wider marine environment.
About the role:
The Fisheries Contracts Portfolio Manager is a brand new role that will better position us to obtain best value outcomes from our large portfolio of research and service providers. We purchase scientific research and procure operational and technical services from our major service providers, to help us make important fisheries management decisions.
You will need experience in managing complex supplier arrangementsand be able to hold your own in challenging situations to negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes. Another essential part of this role is relationship management skills. You'll be working in partnership with subject matter experts across Fisheries New Zealand and MPI, as well as other New Zealand Government agencies and our wide range of research and service providers.
About the Branch:
This is a Tier 4 position that reports directly to the Director Fisheries Science & Information in Fisheries New Zealand. Fisheries New Zealand is a branded business unit within the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) that was established to provide a stronger focus on the management of New Zealand's valuable fisheries resources, and their place in the wider marine environment.
