About our team
The Strategy Directorate has a focus on implementing MPI's strategy and aligning MPI. It does this by working across the whole organisation. The Directorate partners with senior leaders and others to set the organisational direction; deliver the structures and processes needed to achieve organisational goals, ensures MPI is delivering against its strategy.
The Directorate provides advice on MPI's direction, resource use and performance to the Director-General and Senior Leadership Team, and works with others on initiatives to develop the culture and capabilities that MPI will need to be a pre-eminent organisation.
Within the Directorate, the Strategy Implementation and Performance team leads MPI's corporate governance function, advising and running governance committees as key forums for decision making. The team also leads a range of special projects to optimise MPI's organisational and strategic performance now and for the future. This includes running conferences, forums and other key events that connect senior leaders and professionals across our organisation.
About the role
Due to growth opportunities our team is looking for two new senior advisors:
- Senior adviser (governance)
- Senior adviser (stakeholder engagement and events)
As senior adviser (governance) you will work with key decision makers as a trusted advisor and governance specialist serving committee chairs and members. This gives you the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and other professionals plus rare insight into the heart of our organisation's workings and decision making. Knowledge of financial management, digital, data and technology, risk, or health, safety and wellbeing would be an advantage.
As senior adviser (stakeholder engagement and events) you will lead the delivery of key organisational fixtures and other initiatives to connect and strengthen our organisation's leadership, management and development. End to end event management experience including preparing business cases, managing budget and project documentation plus preparing written communications would be an advantage.
You will also have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of complex issues, providing effective analysis, advice and solutions. This will include leading and supporting the delivery of a range of strategic initiatives and other high priority work to ensure MPI's strategy, structure and operations are fit for purpose now and in the future.
To join us you will need:
- a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- a natural flair for delivery with a proven track record of achieving high quality results
- strong stakeholder management experience in building effective working relationships and credibility with senior leaders, technical specialists and peers
- excellent listening, writing, communication and presentation skills
- an action orientation, coupled with maturity, flexibility and perseverance
- the ability to work at strategic, big picture level while also paying attention to detail
For senior adviser (governance):
Knowledge of financial management, digital, data and technology, risk or health and safety knowledge would be an advantage.
For senior adviser (stakeholder engagement and events):
Experience in end to end event management including preparing business cases, managing budget and project documentation plus communications would be an advantage.
