About the role
The Mycoplasma bovis directorate has been running since July 2017, and we are working on a world class piece of work. The environment is dynamic with continual change, you'll really need to enjoy working at pace, and have a high attention to detail to enjoy working with these passionate folk.
In this exciting role you will work within the national planning team assisting and supporting to develop, review and monitor strategic, operational and contingency planning requirements for the M.bovis programme. You will establish a broad range of relationships at all levels within the response to create a situational awareness that will flow into the production of plans and guidance for the Director and other members of the management team. As an Advisor you will also assist to facilitate planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders using the ‘P' process, and other frameworks used within MPI.

Our ideal team mate is detail oriented, proficient using office software programs and comfortable liaising with people at all levels in an organisation. You will also be an effective communicator that is skilled in writing, grammar and formatting. It would be ideal if you have an understanding of the farming sector and/or previously experience in a response environment being familiar with the ‘P' planning process.
If you enjoy requirements identification, analytical thinking and problem solving this could be the ideal role for you.

In July 2017, the bacterial infection Mycoplasma Bovis was found in cattle in the Oamaru area of the South Island. With the support of farmers, industry bodies and local communities, MPI is working hard to locate the disease, contain it and eradicate it from New Zealand. We have setup a directorate specifically to focus on the eradication of M.bovis.
Salary and Benefits
Salary range for this role is $61-71k depending on skills and experience.
