About the Role - Kōrero mō te tūranga
You will be responsible for the delivery of the overall project management function within the Fisheries New Zealand, supporting delivery of a portfolio of wide ranging and varied projects.
In this role you will be working closely with staff, at a range of levels, across Fisheries New Zealand to support the delivery of projects and embed a project management approach to the way Fisheries New Zealand delivers it's work programmes. You will establish planning and monitoring processes and systems; identify risks, common issues across projects, synergies across projects, resource bottlenecks; and support project leads to build project management capability and manage post project reviews. The role is supported by a Project co-ordinator responsible for tracking, monitoring and reporting on projects.
This role requires a high degree of analytical and time management skills, adaptability, and an eye for detail to recognise and resolve risks and issues.
Skills and Experience - Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako
- A relevant tertiary qualification or project/programme management qualification
- Successful development of project staff by coaching and mentoring
- Proven ability to manage relationships including with senior managers and diverse range of external and internal stakeholders
- Experience working in central or local government in New Zealand
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills including proven ability to adapt quickly to meet audience needs
- Ability to perform in high pressure situations and ambiguous work environments
- Successful delivery of complex projects on time, within scope and to the desired quality, with inbuilt and effective monitoring and evaluation processes.
- Portfolio Management experience
