An opportunity is available for an Assistant Business Accountant to join our Management Accounting team with the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). This is a permanent full time role based in Wellington.
This is an opportunity to gain experience in providing financial and management accounting advice and support to a portfolio of budget holders.
Skills and Experience
You will have had some experience working in a finance team and are looking for an opportunity to develop your career.
You will be proactive, have strong attention to detail and able to build strong and effective working relationships with an assortment of stakeholders. You will have the ability to translate technical accounting knowledge into everyday language.
To be successful in this role, you will have
- A tertiary qualification and are currently working toward membership of a professional accounting body
- A good understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Experience in gathering, organising, and communicating financial information
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in Central Government financial management processes and procedures and knowledge of Finance One would be an advantage.
