- Are you interested in developing data links to inform and influence decision makers?
- Are you driven and curious, while looking to make your mark in a major organisation?
We are on the hunt for two smart, curious, and enthusiastic Senior Analysts who challenge conventional thinking and use data and analytical skills to transform the way information is collected, presented and shared.
MPI's Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) investigates emerging trends in agricultural production and trade to understand what the changing world means for the future of our primary industries. It also plays a key role in improving and providing accurate and useful farm benchmarking data across physical, financial, and environmental measures.
In this role, you'll partner with key industry stakeholders to improve the quality and relevance of underlying data so that our primary sectors can make informed decisions around the transition to a productive, sustainable, low-emissions future.
This is an exciting position and one that offers the opportunity to really make an impact while carving out your own space.
To be successful, you'll have a passion for turning data into useful information and insights and strong skills around communicating results to a wide range of people.
The Ministry for Primary Industries is working to grow and protect New Zealand, with an ambition for New Zealand to be the most trusted source of high-value natural products in the world. A key component of the government's economic strategy is for our goods to be sustainably produced. To achieve these objectives, MPI is working to support farmers in the sustainable and profitable use of their land.
We aim to empower farmers to become more resilient and improve the sustainability of their land management practices in the face of current and future challenges and opportunities such as: Mycoplasma bovis and other biosecurity risks; environmental performance; emerging consumer trends; and climate change.
If you're passionate about our primary industries and want to make sure our farmers and growers have access to the best information possible so they can sustainably grow their businesses this might be the opportunity you've been searching for!
