We are experiencing an exciting time for innovation and improvement in the sector and have a busy pipeline of important work including Fisheries System Reform, Revitalising the Hauraki Gulf, Strengthening Fishing Rules and Policies, Ensuring Healthy Ocean Ecosystems, and the implementation of On-Board cameras to name a few.
The Fisheries Data Management team are looking for a Data Analyst to become part of a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for the management of Fisheries New Zealand's scientific and research information.
You will work within a team to assist in supplying scientific data to support informed decision-making processes. You will interact with Fisheries Data Management customers to ensure their information requirements are well defined and apply continuous improvement methodology to the collection, processing, quality management, storage and release of Fisheries information.
Mōu - About You
This role will utilise your excellent “eye for detail”, communication and analytical skills. A relevant tertiary qualification, appropriate experience and sound computing skills are all essential. An understanding of methodologies for managing data quality and knowledge of the fishing industry are also highly desirable, but not essential.
