Salary range: $68,000 to $108,000 depending on skills and experience

We're looking for an Adviser/Senior Adviser to join our Plant Products team in the Animal and Plant Health Directorate. The role is responsible for managing the biosecurity risk to New Zealand by developing import requirements and assessing permit applications.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About the Team
The Plant Products team deals with the import of grains, animal feeds, laboratory specimens, processed plant commodities as well as setting facility standards for New Zealand.
Mōu - About You
You will ideally have a post-graduate qualification in horticultural, forestry, agricultural or biological sciences, or a related discipline.
You will need be able to demonstrate the practical application of:
- Risk analysis or the provision of technical advice
- Strong written communication skills
- Problem solving and a ‘can do' attitude
- Managing competing priorities in the work plan
- Assisting in bilateral discussions
- Knowledge/understanding of horticultural/biological systems.
