Verification Services within the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) are looking for qualified veterinarians who are eligible to be registered with the NZ Veterinary Council. You don't have to be currently practising as MPI can work with you to obtain registration.
These roles are based in meat processing plants across the country within supportive and sociable teams. They focus on auditing the plants to ensure that assurances for export products are maintained by the operators and their processes.

- Complete ante mortem inspections and occasionally provide judgement on post-mortem inspection
- Work to a variety of stakeholders – from plant operators to general staff
- Attend and facilitate internal, external and market access reviews
- Communicate positively with internal and external industry stakeholders
MPI offers full technical training, and the support of a wider team of experts to support you as you grow in the role.
Some of the other benefits include monthly rostered hours with no on call requirements, we cover your membership of the NZVA and annual payment of your practising certificate.
