International Standards Coordinator
Role type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Wellington
Salary range: $60,331 to $81,624 depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced team co-ordinator to join the International Policy directorate of the Policy and Trade Branch, providing administrative and logistics support to the International Standards Organisations team and the directorate.
The focus of the role is facilitating MPI's representatives' participation in international standards and other organisations meetings (with a particular focus on Codex – the international food standards body), including consultations and briefing preparation, and tracking post-event reporting. You will also look after the smooth running of the team, manage distribution of foreign affairs dispatches in MPI, provide secretariat and support for meetings and events, and assist with some accounts functions (contracts and invoices).

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience working in an office or event management environment
- Knowledge of administration and business support systems and processes, including the principles of procurement and accounting, and meeting and visit support.
- Sound secretariat skills and experience
- Strong skills with MS Word and Excel, and managing Outlook mailboxes
- Have a customer and delivery focus.
We need you to be agile and adaptable, and a team player who is strong on systems, processes, and relationships. You will take pride in completing your work efficiently and to a high level, providing input to improve and develop processes.

International standards bodies are a critical part of the international trade system, providing for the safe and fair trade of food, and protection of plant health, and animal welfare. The International Standards Organisations team leads Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI)'s engagement in the three international standard setting bodies.
In addition to typical administrative functions, the Support Officer provides support across the business for participation and contribution to meetings, reporting, and co-ordinating stakeholder engagement.
