Salary range: $128,247 to $173,511 depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
The Strategy, Governance and Performance Directorate is part of the Public Affairs business unit, and its work contributes to ensuring there is confidence in the operation and direction of MPI. Our primary internal customers are the Senior Leadership Team in their collective role as the leaders of MPI and as Governance members.
In this role, you and your team will have an influential role to provide advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team and the Senior Leadership Team organisational sub-Committees. You will also work closely alongside your managerial colleagues in Directorate. The other functions in the Directorate cover organisational strategy development and implementation, planning, and performance reporting. This gives a solid enterprise view to inform the governance work of providing strategic advice and assurance to senior leaders.
Mōu - About You
The Manager will be responsible for developing and leading a highly capable team ensuring robust processes for communication, engagement, learning and development and performance management are implemented.
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Significant experience in managing governance arrangements, assessing organisational performance, and leading organisational improvement and change in a large public sector organisation
- Experience in working collaboratively across organisations
- The ability to establish and maintain strong effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
- Significant experience working with Senior Managers and Chief Executives
- Knowledge and experience in change management, strategy development and implementation
- Experience in managing, coaching staff, building a high performing and connected team
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong written communication skills
Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team
The Manager Governance will support a team that is adept at providing secretariat services and advising on governance and organisational capabilities that MPI requires to be successful. It is a flexible go-to team with a strong focus on good governance and decision-making in a large public sector organisation. The team works closely with the Strategy and Planning team and Organisational Performance while at times the Strategy Directorate needs to work in cross-directorate project teams.
