Salary Band: $104,159 to $139,509 depending on skills and experience
The Ministry for Primary Industries are currently recruiting for a Procurement Specialist, to join our Finance & Procurement directorate, as part of our Corporate Services business unit based in Wellington.
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
Part of a high performing team, you'll use your skills to support MPI to achieve our desired outcomes and continue our transformation from good to great.. The primary focus of this role will be ICT but may involve supporting other business units as required.
Mōu - About You
You will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, leading and facilitating procurement processes through to contract signing, and providing advice and assistance to contract managers.
You will be successful in this role if you:
- Have at least 1 year and preferably 3+ years' experience with ICT procurement
- Have a customer focused approach,
- Can build strong and effective relationships with business partners
- Know your ROI's from your COI's,
- Have a proven track record in contract negotiations
- Have sharp analytical skills.

The Procurement and Commercial Management function is made up of four teams supporting business units across MPI in the areas of procurement, contract management, contract administration and commercial advice.
