Salary range: $64,331-$84,918 – Business Adviser & $82,817- $112,321 – Senior Business Adviser depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
Working with New Zealand Food Safety, this position will see you provide technical support to the Approvals team with their reporting outputs. This will include organisational performance, evidence-based reporting, and measures, provide data and analysis to inform performance monitoring, non-financial reporting, and act as a key coordination point for these activities.
You will work across all areas of New Zealand Food Safety, IT and MPI as a whole. Some of this work will require you to work with other directorates in MPI such as Biosecurity and Customs.
The focus of this role will be to look after our technical platforms and supporting the Approvals team in its reporting outputs including coordinating and prioritising incoming applications. You will also be responsible for processing requests from internal/external stakeholders and looking after the renewals, reminders and cancellations of all registrations across the board.
You will act as main point of contact with our website analysts, providing monthly reporting and data for senior leaders including industry reports while also looking for ways to enhance our systems and act as a key coordination point for these activities.
You will have the opportunity to grow and develop a broad range of strategic skills and provide quality analysis, advice and system improvements to the team and the wider directorate.
Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team
This position sits in the Operations, Approvals Team within New Zealand Food Safety Directorate at MPI. The Approvals team is responsible for high quality governance support, performance and risk reporting, official correspondence, and ministerial support.
The team includes members whose key responsibilities are the processing and assessment of applications under the ACVM Act, Animal Products Act, the Wine Act, and the Food Act.

To be successful in this role you'll bring:

- Exceptional organising skills, attention to detail, personal drive and ability to co-ordinate Business Adviser tasks
- An ability to communicate effectively and have a solid understanding of how to deliver as part of a team.
- Experience with the following would be advantageous in this position: Crystal Reports and MS Access (visual basic), MS office, Power BI, SAP, Salesforce experience in reporting and Data Visualisation. QMS
