Salary Range, GSR F: $74,964 to $99,968 depending on skills and experience
Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
Within the Regulatory Delivery Service Delivery Team, you will focus initially on providing business support and advice to businesses throughout New Zealand, while also providing support in project work with a Seafood and Meat focus. You will be working alongside our team of technical experts. As you develop into the role, the role will develop along with you and see you working in different areas such as quality systems, evaluation services, monitoring programmes and sector engagements.
In this hugely important role, you will be working with a team of similar advisers, who you can learn from and contribute to a range of other projects and initiatives.
This is an exciting time to join the team and this role will see you add value to both the Service Delivery and Project teams, and across the New Zealand Food Safety business unit.
Mōu - About You
We are looking for an adviser with a lean towards animal products or food legislation.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone that has:
- Pragmatic, solution focused and comfortable with ambiguity and change.
- Known for a can-do, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Experience in absorbing technical information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner to a non-technical audience
- Ability to work well under pressure and capacity to multi-task effectively while still meeting deadlines.
- A qualification in food science, microbiology, food engineering, veterinary science (or similar experience) is ideal. Don't let this be a barrier. Our successful team members have a wide range of backgrounds and experience
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety
- Knowledge of government processes and legislation
- Work experience in seafood, meat, dairy or other food desirable

Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team
The Service Delivery team sits within Regulatory Delivery, in the Food Risk Management directorate of New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS). Food Risk Management is responsible for setting standards for food production, processing, importing and exporting; identifying emerging food safety risks; and delivering an agile and evolving food compliance and response system.
A small team of 8 people, we work closely with our regulatory delivery colleagues to support food businesses and other stakeholders with their requirements under the Food Act, Animal Products Act and Wine Act.
Based primarily out of Wellington in Pastoral House, our team is hard working and friendly. People enjoy working in this team because we have an energetic and positive team environment. Our work spans across many areas and so there will always be opportunities to learn, grow and try new things.
