Senior Adviser (Performance)
Role type: Permanent, full-time
Location: Wellington
Salary band & range: General Salary Range D: $98,955 to $115,691 depending on skills and experience
About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga
We are looking for an experienced organisational performance professional to join the Biosecurity Strategy, Performance & Treaty Partnerships directorate.
This is a great opportunity to combine your communication, performance reporting, strategic analysis, relationship management and business planning & reporting skills. You will need to identify trends and be skilled in translating a broad variety of financial and non-finaincial data into meaningful and accessible information. The insights you provide to senior leaders will assist in identifing opportunities, enhancing our service delivery performance and supporting quality business outcomes.
As a Senior Adviser, you will:
- Produce internal performance reports and presentations for Bisoecuirty New Zealand
- Prepare external accountability reporting including coordination of Select Committee Questions
- End-to-end process development and improvement, including gathering and analysing information, evaluating solutions, testing, and presenting findings and recommendations, with a focus on data usage.
- Manage relationships with Directors, Managers and other stakeholders.
About You - Mōu
We are looking for someone to bring:
- Experience in the development of business performance indicators that accurately measure delivery against organisational objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to present complex information to a range of audiences.
- Excellent relationship management skills and demonstrated success in working across business groups in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to provide advice and reporting based on insights-driven analysis to support robust decision-making processes
- Ability to identify issues, problems, and then opportunities including a strategic and analytical mindset
- Knowledge and understanding of the public sector and the machinery of government
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise and organise your workload to ensure that deadlines are met and work is delivered to an agreed standard.
About the Team - Mō tō mātou Rōpū
The Performance team work across the branch to lift Biosecurity NZ's strategic capability and performance – integrating performance measurements, reporting, governance, and planning to enhance capability and assist Biosecurity NZ in achieving its goals.
We are developing a performance measurement programme for Biosecurity NZ, which includes specific Service Performance Measures along with broader impact measures that help our people know how well we're going, and to tell our story to those we are accountable to.
