Job title: Process and Systems Improvement Specialist
Role type: Fixed Term or secondment through to June 2026, full time preferred
Location: Wellington
Salary band & range: D $100,934 to $129,804 depending on skills and experience
About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga
This role leads improvement initiatives across finance systems, with a strong focus on TechOne and continuous enhancement. You'll manage multiple projects in a fasted paced environment working closely with key stakeholders across Finance and Procurement to roll out Ministry-wide enhancements such as process automation and online tools.
The role will be key in identifying and delivering improvements to finance-related systems and processes. This includes analysing current operations to uncover opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness, leading initiatives that enhance system integrity and accessibility, and driving continuous improvement through structured methodologies.
You will thrive to:
- Deliver upgrades using TechOne's latest CiAnywhere functions
- Configure, set up, and manage TechOne modules and workflows
- Analyse operations to find efficiency and integrity gaps
- Lead projects with tight deadlines and high stakeholder input
- Support eInvoicing and other finance transformation work
- Manage BAU requests alongside system improvement projects
- Test, detect, and resolve issues across finance platforms
- Engage with cost centre managers and budget holders
- Help shape the future of financial systems at MPI

About the Team - Mō tō mātou Rōpū
Our Wellington-based team of approximately six reports to the Finance Controller and ultimately to MPI's CFO. The team supports a Tier 1 system, engaging widely across the business to deliver smart, responsive solutions. We collaborate closely, share knowledge freely, and help each other meet tight deadlines with agility and focus. Our work often requires quick thinking and fast delivery under pressure, making this a dynamic and rewarding environment.
