General Salary band & range: H $60,750 to $70,402 depending on skills and experience
About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga
The Ministry for Primary Industries is seeking two administration professionals to support Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service.
The Support officer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of Te Uru Rākau by delivering consistent, customer-focused administrative and logistical support.
On a daily basis, this role will coordinate meetings, assist with document preparation, act as superusers for MPI corporate systems, help staff navigate tools and processes, and manage purchase orders, travel arrangements, and internal communications.
A key focus of this role is workflow coordination—ensuring tasks, meetings, and processes run smoothly across the branch – including:
- Coordinate workflows and ensure timely delivery of support services
- Book meetings, take minutes, and arrange rooms,
- Arrange domestic travel for staff
- Assist with document preparation and internal communications
- Act as superusers for MPI systems, supporting staff with access and use
- Receive and process invoices, purchase orders and mail

About the Team - Mō tō mātou Rōpū
The Business Support and Office of the Deputy Director-General (ODDG) team supports the DDG of Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service.The team includes Support Officers, a Business Support Officer, Project Coordinators, a Coordinator, an Adviser, and Senior Advisers.
We are a collaborative, high-performing team that values diverse perspectives, open communication, and shared problem-solving. We work closely with leaders and staff across the branch to ensure the delivery of seamless operational support.
