Job title: Analyst Data and Information
Role type: Full time, Permanent
Location: Wellington
Salary band & range: BTIS – F $85,928 - $100,351 depending on skills and experience
About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga
As an Analyst, Data, and Information, you'll be part of the Information Management team supporting and maintaining our SharePoint Online environment and other M365 workspaces. You'll respond to requests from across the Ministry, helping teams create new sites and libraries, manage access, move content, and support broader business needs in collaboration with our Data & Information Advisory team.
You'll contribute to the Ministry's compliance with the Public Records Act by applying disposal authorities and supporting projects and initiatives across the Ministry and All-of-Government. Your work will help ensure our legacy physical and digital information is well-managed, accessible, and aligned with information governance standards.
You'll check in with the team daily, monitor the SharePoint Online Support inbox and ServiceNow, and manage tasks using Azure DevOps. You'll work on larger or more complex tasks with team support, assist with requirements gathering, and engage confidently with customers, vendors, and colleagues across BT&IS.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for SharePoint Online and other M365 tools
- Respond to and resolve internal requests related to content management and site configuration
- Collaborate with Advisory teams to meet business needs for information and data management

About You – Mōu

You're comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and colleagues across BT&IS.
You'll have recent experience as a SharePoint Online administrator and be ready to provide day-to-day user support. You don't need to be a technical expert but solid, reliable skills and a willingness to learn are key. An understanding of information management practices is preferred, and experience in a public office environment would be beneficial but not essential.
You might be early in your career or transitioning from another role, ideally with a relevant degree and some experience in information management. MPI offers a varied and interesting environment, with opportunities to try new things, join internal interest groups, and learn on the job as new M365 apps roll out.
