Salary Band: GSR F $76,463 to $89,215 depending on skills and experience

About the Role - Kōrero mō te tūranga

We are looking for an Analyst Operations to join our Forestry Operations directorate as part of our wider Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service. This role reports to the Team Leader, Forestry Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) Operations.

The core responsibilities for the role are:

• Being a technical specialist in the ETS for forestry
• Undertaking analysis and providing advice
• Liaising directly with forestry consultants, forest owners, and inventory providers
• Supporting Team Leaders and senior officials with subject matter expertise
• Providing technical advice for the improvement and creation of operational policy, process, and procedure as well as forms and templates

These positions will best suit proactive and motivated applicants with good analytical skills and sound judgement who have an interest in the ETS.

• Strong skills in analysing and solving problems

• Ability to learn and apply legislation in an operational context
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people and work collaboratively
• An understanding of the public sector and the government, including the ability to interact with decision makers and stakeholders
• Knowledge of the forestry aspects of the ETS and carbon accounting is valuable but not essential
