People Hub Coordinator
Role type: Permanent, full-time
Location: Wellington
Salary band & range: General Salary Range G: $67,658 to $74,297 depending on skills and experience
About the Role – Kōrero mō te Tūranga
We have an exciting opportunity for someone with strong administration or coordination experience to step into the world of human resources! As part of our fast-paced, agile People Hub, you will use your organisational strengths and customer-focussed approach to make a real difference every day.
You'll support a broad range of HR tasks - from drafting employment documentation, onboarding new staff, and navigating payroll systems, to answering generalist HR queries. This role offers exposure across the full spectrum of HR operations - you will have the opportunity to support MPI and all we do - and no two days will be the same! If you have a “can do” attitude, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for customer service and helping people, this role is for you!
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Act as a first point of contact for the People Hub, responding to queries and providing guidance using our self-service tools and resources
- Provide administrative and coordination support across a variety of HR tasks and teams
- Draft employment documentation and support the onboarding process
- Navigate payroll and HR systems to ensure smooth processing
- Respond to general HR queries from employees and provide outstanding customer service
- Maintain a high level of organisation and accuracy while managing competing priorities
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems

About You – Mōu
You'll bring strong communication or administrative experience and a genuine interest in HR. What sets you apart is your attention to detail, strong customer service ethos, and ability to stay agile across a wide range of tasks.
To be successful in this role, your experience will include:
- Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role, (public or private sector)
- Experience in HR (generalist or otherwise) is beneficial, but not essential
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving attitude
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word

About the Team – Mō tō mātou Rōpū
The People Hub Team is a supportive collaborative team within the wider People Operations group. We work closely with our Payroll and Business Systems Colleagues to provide high-quality consistent HR support across MPI. The team is primarily Wellington based with one team member in Auckland. We are a diverse, friendly group who work together to deliver great outcomes for our people.
